Yohji Yamamoto is a Japanese fashion designer who, since the 1980s, has been presenting his work to the world during the Paris Fashion Week events. Yamamoto expresses by the clothing his rebellious convictions, calling to break down generally accepted social values and taboo subjects. His motto is: "To conquer the runways through the antithesis". The artist offers clients timeless oversized clothing referring to Parisian chic and nonchalance. When Yohji Yamamoto is supposed to appear on Paris catwalk, the audience is usually filled to the brim. The first women collection of the Japanese designer was presented in 1972 in Tokyo, and in the following years Yamamoto entered also the world of man fashion. In 1981, the designer moved to the European capital of fashion, Paris – city, which corte perfectly matches his sophisticated collections. In the 1990s, Yohji Yamamoto became part of the theatre and opera history by designing costumes for "Madame Butterfly", staged at the Opéra de Lyon, and for "Tristan and Isolde", staged at the Margravial Opera House in Bayreuth.  In 2002, the designer started a brilliant collaboration with a sports giant, releasing the futuristic and original footwear collection Y-3 Adidas Yohji Yamamoto. Created by Men's Barnby Wax Jacket Black became a world bestseller.
