EditorialSneakersbeShops CURATES: Cult Staples
13 September 2024SneakersbeShops curates a selection of men's outfits from brands with a meticulous approach to craft, materials and the finer details.
To many, the British countryside represents the everyday, the commonplace. However, through stopping and taking the time to appreciate it, its spectacular beauty can offer a sense of joy and escapism through the everyday. With the Cult Staples edit, SneakersbeShops curates a selection of men's outfits that mirror this idea of beauty in the everyday, focusing on brands with a deep appreciation for meticulous craftsmanship, unique fabrics and garment silhouettes. Commenting on the edit, Elliot Adams, one of SneakersbeShops’s Creative Stylists, said “with this project, the styling combines experimental design with everyday staples. It merges unique fabrics, bold silhouettes and unconventional colours with refined garments that nod to traditional menswear”.
The first look sees a Kartik Research Patchwork Rugby Knit layered over an Auralee long-sleeve tee, paired with straight-cut jeans from mfpen and Diemme Hiking shoes. Echoing the emphasis on elevated craft throughout the curated edit, a silk jacquard shirt from Hiroki Nakamura’s visvim is paired with khaki box pleat trousers from Sage Nation and suede Camion Mules from Our Legacy.
Naturally, Auralee forms part of the curation — thanks to Ryoti Iwai’s obsessive approach to materials — with a purple quarter zip paired with Studio Nicholson denim volume pants, a striped Comme des Garçons shirt and Diemme Conaro hiking shoes. Continuing the theme of refined and elevated garments, A Kind of Guise’s Gusto shirt is layered over mfpen’s Leisure zip sweatshirt, paired with washed grey regular jeans from the Danish brand and Mizuno Wave Prophecy sneakers.
The fifth look, meanwhile, sees a Jil Sander mohair knit layered over a MHL By Margaret Howell shirt, paired with Sage Nation Maly wide-leg trousers and ASICS Gel-Quantum 360 VIIIs. Reflecting the edit’s emphasis on silhouettes, textures and detail, volume twill pants by Studio Nicholson are paired with a chunky MHL By Margaret Howell knit, a vintage denim Sage Nation jacket and Oakley Factory Team mules.
